Job Description Purpose and Scope:

The Specialist III, Campus Service Center provides guidance to new and returning students on LSC processes, assists with student services questions, and serves as the primary point of contact at the college’s service centers.

Essential Job Functions

Provides a high level of admissions‑related information and assistance to potential, new, and returning students.

Refers students to appropriate specialists or advisors for questions beyond the scope of this position.

Manages the college’s information counter, call center, and Visitor Center.

Provides information and referrals to students who cannot enroll due to holds, prerequisites, testing requirements.

Advises, interprets, and implements district/state policies regarding testing and placement.

Performs data entry functions in iStar (PeopleSoft) and other systems.

Develops and distributes informational materials for new/prospective students.

Assists with website and service center information; helps hire, train, and oversee part‑time and student workers.

Performs other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong attention to detail.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work on multiple projects.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. The employee sits comfortably to perform tasks, but may also walk, stand, bend, carry light items (papers, books, small parts), or drive an automobile. No special physical demands are required.

Work Schedule and Conditions Equipment: PC workstation on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other office equipment. Interface with internal and external contacts as needed. Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.

Required Qualifications High School Diploma and at least 3 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree.

Salary Hiring salary range: $33,540 – $38,571.
