The

Project Manager II

provides project-related management for small to mid-scale construction projects across various markets within an assigned region or division, and is responsible for utilizing H&M's Project Management Methodology to manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle, while being accountable for all aspects of each project's success. This position provides direct support to other functional project teams in the planning and execution of the job including resolving issues, managing resources, coordinating projects, interfacing with client representatives, overseeing project accounting, training, mentoring and coaching. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing third party resources and overall project performance. The Project Manager II serves a single-point contact and ensures compliance with the Henkels & McCoy established Project Management Methodology, upholding H&M safety and quality management protocols.

The

Project Manager I

is the primary point of contact with the customer for the contracts assigned to them. This position is responsible for driving the overall operational performance of the contract. Additionally, responsible for ensuring all customer contract requirements are met and that projects meet or exceed all performance targets.

Responsibilities

Plan, monitor, and report project status and performance data to management and stakeholders.

Anticipate potential implications of current work and make proactive decisions to ensure efficient productivity and completion of projects.

Accountable for managing risks, developing & implementing mitigation plans, and communicating risks for both self‑performed and subcontracted work across all phases of the project.

Provide insight to thought leadership in the continuous improvement of methodology, tools, and approaches using fundamentals of H&M Project Management practices, while mentoring others and/or being an individual contributor with responsibilities for providing project management expertise or leading internal processes across other project delivery functions.

Ensure that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy.

Manage within an environment of trust & candor, promote accountability, and assertively offer encouragement & constructive feedback.

Responsible for managing additional resources assigned to an initiative/project.

Contract and Financial Performance

Understand the contract, as well as any other documentation regarding requirements or expectations for the project which could include: Deliverables, KPIs, Scheduling, Safety Requirements, Customer Specific Requirements, Units of Measurement, and Contract Terms & Conditions.

Manage scope creep with contract change orders and review of originally contracted scope with customer.

Ensure the H&M West tracking systems support contract and reporting requirements.

Ensure all data is accurately entered into the H&M West database in a timely manner.

Ensure quality of data provided to the customer.

Project Management Performance

Manage day to day activities for all aspects of assigned projects, inception through execution and close-out.

Direct staff to ensure job setup, production accuracy, and cost accuracy, and change orders are performed.

Direct, coordinate, and review design efforts with engineering consultants.

Communicate support requirements to staff with accuracy and in a timely manner.

Provide project status reports on overall project performance to Senior Project Manager and/or Program Manager.

Responsible for overall project performance (P&L).

Provide periodic project status reports and performance reports to customer.

Maintain resource loaded schedules for all assigned projects.

Review and approve project documentation which could include timesheets, production, and/or accounts payable.

Lead project teams and use project management tools, processes to execute projects which could include:

Review and acceptance of contractual terms and conditions.

Inclusion of customer requirements and procedures into execution plan.

Lead team in development and execution of project plan and schedule.

Monitor performance against key performance indicators and adjust plan to get back on track.

Apply lessons learned.

Manage project team performance.

Identify high risk activities and develop mitigation plans.

Maintain customer awareness of project status, issues, changes, etc.

Lead in-person or virtual project meetings with customer, subcontractors, and/or internal team members.

Prepare and file meet and/or general notes on project updates throughout lifecycle of project.

Qualifications

Requires effective oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and strong computer literacy.

Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to multi‑task are essential.

Must be a self‑starter and have the ability to organize and prioritize work.

Demonstrated business acumen, customer focus, and drive for results.

Demonstrated proficiency and experience managing large projects within construction and utility industries.

PMP Certification is a plus.

Experience

PM I: At least 3 years of construction industry experience (within Power Delivery industry preferred)

PM II: At least 5 years of construction industry experience (within Power Delivery industry preferred)

Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience in Project Management.

Wage Range

PM I: $79,700 - $119,500/annually

PM II: $91,600 - $137,500/annually
