Position Overview We are looking for a BID Project Manager to join our growing team. The BID Project Manager is a key role, responsible for coordinating all activities within the Building Inspections Department, including project documentation management and communication with clients, field inspectors, engineers, and municipalities. This position will supervise all permitting and plan review activities in the department, ensuring that all required reports and documents are compiled, updated, and maintained for a complete Certificate of Compliance package upon project completion. Responsibilities

Develops and implements standardized processes for processing permits and plan reviews

Maintains seamless communication with clients, owners, contractors, and stakeholders regarding the opening and closing of projects

Attends preconstruction and on-site meetings with clients and municipalities to ensure compliance

Obtains documents from clients to facilitate the permit application process

Obtains all required approvals for permits and act as the primary liaison between the company, client, and each municipality

Prepares and submits applications to various agencies/boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals

Reviews plans issued out of the department for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy

Collaborates with external consultants to coordinate paperwork and applications as necessary

Submits, distributes, and files paperwork and enters data for various permits, such as building, standard plans, plan changes, and closeout documents

Maintains all company files relating to permit applications, approvals, licenses, issued permits, and closeout documents

Fosters a strong working relationship with municipalities to ensure timely permit processing

Coordinates project activities and billing with Project Coordinators

Performs other duties as assigned and directed by the Department Manager

Regular attendance is required

Follows safety procedures

Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; OR

ICC certification(s) relevant to building inspection (eg. Building Inspector, Combination Inspector, Plans Examiner).

Strong knowledge of building codes and construction practices.

Proven experience in building inspection, code enforcement or related field.

Additional certifications in inspection or testing areas (eg. ACI, ATTI, Nuclear Safety) preferred.

Familiarity with ASTM and AASHTO standards (preferred).

Experience coordinating with materials testing laboratories or special inspections.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific platforms (e.g., project management, data reporting systems).

Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Willingness to travel to job sites and work in diverse environmental conditions.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and interface with clients and regulatory bodies effectively

Travel Requirements ● This position requires occasional travel, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on‑site work.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring flexibility to work effectively from both a professional office and work site setting.

Work is performed at a desk for extended periods using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment in a climate-controlled office environment.

Regular in-person communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders is required.

Physical demands may include sitting for long durations, occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of materials up to 15 pounds.

Field Environment:

Work at outdoor sites including wetlands, forests, grasslands, construction zones, and undeveloped land.

Travel on foot across uneven, rugged, or obstructed terrain, sometimes in areas inaccessible by vehicle.

Exposure to varying weather conditions including heat, cold, humidity, rain, or sun.

Possible presence of insects, animals, or natural and man‑made hazards in field environments.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry between 35–75 lbs. of equipment or samples over distances up to 75 feet.

Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate lab and field equipment for extended periods.

Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and balance as needed during both lab and fieldwork.

Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats in varied environments, often while wearing PPE.

Ability to use sensory capabilities to see (including close and distant vision, color perception, depth perception, and focus) and smell for observation and safety purposes.
