Job Summary We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Executive Assistant/Clery Compliance Officer. The Executive Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing high-level, confidential administrative support and schedule management for command staff, to include prioritizing emails, phone calls and sensitive matters. This includes coordinating travel arrangements and expense reports, composing confidential correspondence, projecting, and monitoring of department budget, and office management. This position manages public records and retention/destruction of police records. The Clery Compliance position ensures the university’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act and associated regulations to avoid steep fines for violations. This position works collaboratively with various internal and external offices to collect crime statistics and ensure the Annual Security Report is prepared, published, and distributed to students and employees, as well as administering the federal Campus Safety Survey.

Salary The salary for this position is $68,227 (minimum) up to $84,720. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, or related field

Excellent oral and written communication

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Excellent computer skills; familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and databases

Responsible for tracking the departments Ledger 1,2 and 5 expenditures

Tracks expenses and runs reports to insure that the department is operating within state guidelines and in accordance with budgetary processes

Coordinates and tracks grant expenditures related to grants awarded to the department

Assists in developing/ projecting and monitoring department budget

Identifies problems and makes recommendations or initiates corrective action related to budget

Demonstrated ability to apply a responsive and flexible approach that is supportive of the needs including universal access of our students, faculty, staff and the public

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience complying with the requirements of the Clery Act

Advanced Clery Act Training

Familiarization with Title IX

Three years or more of work experience with an institution of higher education

Conditions of Employment This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.

Immunization Policy All new employees must comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU. Waivers for the immunization requirements are available for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs.

Required Training After starting employment, employees will complete the required training via Canvas. Workplace Belonging training will be available on December 1st and should be completed by March 31st, 2026.
