Overview
The Service Manager manages and assists in all Medium Voltage evolutions of assigned project types across all Alteron’s operational departments. Conduct will always be ethical and professional to ensure maximum total company profitability, as well as achieving exceptional overall group performance and maximum customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Project/Service Management: 60% Project set‑up responsibility
Budgeting and Job Cost Entry for material, labor, subcontracts, DJE
Scheduling (construction, material, labor, cash)
Schedule of values (billing, cash flow)
Monitoring and preparing dispute/claim avoidance
Contract interpretation
Project meeting attendance
Maintains a proactive approach to project planning to maximize profit and performance
In coordination with Purchasing, project material budgets, and company policies, promptly procures and coordinates delivery of appropriate materials to the project site
Works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to pre‑plan and schedule resources required for assigned project types
Maintains effective communications with appropriate Alteron personnel, keeping them informed of all aspects relevant to the duties to which they have been assigned
Ensures long‑term customer/account satisfaction and grows revenue and opportunities with assigned accounts
Additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Service: 10%
Education and Experience
Inside Wireman Apprenticeship completion or equivalent
Associate’s Degree in Business Management, Construction Management or Construction Engineering
2 years’ experience in a field supervisory position required
10 years minimum of Medium Voltage field experience required
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or other related software
Able to remain up to date on technical knowledge
Work Environment
Office environment with frequent travel to job sites required
Outdoor work environment with exposure to dust, humidity, heat, and cold
Frequent exposure to stressful situations
Routine overtime required
Physical Demands
Frequent driving to and from job sites and customer offices required
Must be able to meet with customers, other departments within the company, and job site employees
Must be able to frequently walk job sites, on uneven ground, and around moving equipment and/or machinery
Must be able to sit, stand, bend over, climb, crouch/stoop, and kneel
Repetitive use of feet and hands, including grasping and fine finger dexterity required
Use of head and neck in a static position required
Must be able to occasionally lift 21‑50 pounds at times with or without assistance
