Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven

Inventory Specialist

to support inventory accuracy, product availability, and efficient supply flow across our veterinary clinics. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our teams have the supplies and medications they need each day by maintaining accurate counts, coordinating orders, monitoring expiration dates, and supporting standardized inventory procedures. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, comfortable working in multiple systems, and able to coordinate inventory processes across various clinic locations.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate inventory records across veterinary practice management systems (e.g., Cornerstone, Avimark) and pharmacy/ordering platforms.

Perform routine cycle counts, stock audits, coupon audits, and reconciliation tasks across multiple clinics.

Support day-to-day ordering of medications, vaccines, supplies, and controlled substances in coordination with clinic managers and purchasing partners.

Monitor product usage trends, minimum/maximum levels, and reorder points to ensure proper stock availability.

Track and manage expiration dates, usage rates, temperature-sensitive items, and proper storage of veterinary pharmaceuticals.

Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist in implementing corrective actions.

Help standardize SKUs, product catalogs, and naming conventions across the organization.

Provide basic reporting and summaries of inventory levels, costs, and variances using Excel or other tools.

Work closely with clinic teams to reduce waste, improve ordering accuracy, and support cost-efficient inventory practices.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Veterinary Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

1–2 years of experience in inventory coordination, preferably in a healthcare, veterinary, or multi-location environment.

Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas, reporting).

Comfort working within veterinary-specific software and ordering/ERP systems.

Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management abilities.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with veterinary inventory workflows and ordering systems (Covetrus, MWI, Patterson, etc.).

Familiarity with controlled substance tracking requirements and compliance procedures.

Background supporting multiple veterinary or medical clinics.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or SQL for enhanced reporting (a plus, not required).
