Job Description/Responsibilities

The Materials Manager controls the flow and manages inventories of materials for TGD production, including labels, empty case goods, closures, and other incoming supplies.

Works with Sazerac’s Purchasing Department on expediting orders and resolving issues.

Responsible for bulk glass/PET reboxing and VAPs; manages offline projects including VAPs.

Leads the Inventory Control Team and handles internal invoicing.

Ensures accurate inventory control measures for all TGD bottling components, ingredients and bulk materials within System 21.

Oversees purchases of items for bottling production and processing, identifies and resolves discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders and receipts.

Adheres to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies; analyzes and resolves component/materials quality problems.

Supplies receipt and unloading of various bottling materials and verifies accuracy of shipments.

Manages scheduling, release, and maintenance of inventory for both TGD and contract customers, ensuring timely communication with customers.

Provides exceptional customer service as a professional point of contact between vendors, customers, and TGD.

Coordinates releases with Purchasing Department, assists production scheduling and purchasing to meet demand.

Trains and supervises direct reports, evaluates performance, and develops improvement plans.

Identifies and recommends cost savings and process improvement opportunities; manages recyclables and removal.

Develops and implements the Materials Department strategic plan, including Capex requests for productivity improvements.

Supports the department culture, treats team members fairly and encourages a team environment.

Works with team members on career development plans.

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

Minimum five (5) years of relevant materials, logistics, or supply chain experience.

Ability to work efficiently under demanding conditions.

Success in designing and implementing process improvement initiatives.

Experience with manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS).

Experience in monthly inventory and accounting closes.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.

Supervisory experience.

Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Teamwork and self‑direction capability.

Preferred

Experience in the Alcohol Beverage Industry.
