Business Coordinator College of Law – UNL

Description of Work The Business Coordinator supports the College of Law by managing day‑to‑day building operations, human resources processes, and administrative systems (including room reservation and calendaring systems) that ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the College. This position will serve as a primary point of contact for staff and faculty regarding operational logistics, HR coordination, and building management. This position also handles basic accounting needs for the College, under the direction of the Director of Business Operations.
The Business Coordinator works closely with the Dean’s Office, the Director of Business Operations, and other administrative leaders to implement business processes, support hiring and onboarding, maintain facilities and office resources, manage invoices and purchasing, and facilitate internal communication across departments. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive working relationships across the College and University.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, management, communications, or a related field plus two (2) years of progressively responsible administrative or operations experience.
Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ability to learn new software and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in higher education or a large, complex organization.
Experience with HR‑related processes such as recruitment, onboarding, and payroll coordination.
Experience managing building or facilities operations.
Experience with basic bookkeeping or accounting processes.
Knowledge of University of Nebraska administrative systems, including SAP, Firefly, eSHOP, and NuRamp.
Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
Pre‑Placement Driving Record Review Required No
Physical Requirement No
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Required. Subject to DOT approved pre‑employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
Criminal History Background Check Required Yes
