The City of Powell is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Community Engagement Specialist to join our team! This position plays a vital role in supporting the City’s communication and public engagement efforts through graphic design, photography, videography, and social media content creation. Hours
Monday through Friday, flexible within normal business hours.
Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays required to support special events and community programs.
$26.45 to $31.25 per hour (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Create and design digital and print communication materials including graphics, brochures, flyers, banners, newsletters, and social media content.
Capture high-quality photography and videography of City programs, events, facilities, and staff.
Edit and produce videos for promotional, informational, and community-focused purposes.
Support the City’s social media presence by creating content, drafting posts, scheduling updates, and monitoring engagement.
Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
Assist with updating and maintaining content on the City’s website.
Work with City departments to promote initiatives, programs, events, and services.
Support planning and execution of internal and external community engagement events.
Monitor communication channels for trends, public feedback, and emerging issues.
Maintain a digital library of photos, videos, templates, and graphic design assets.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in graphic design, digital media, communication, marketing, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred).
Preferred 1–3 years of experience in graphic design, digital content creation, photography, videography, or social media management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with graphic design and video editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools).
