The Institute for Geophysics (UTIG), an organized research unit in the Jackson School of Geosciences, seeks to hire a Senior Administrative Associate. The position is located at The University of Texas J.J. Pickle Research Campus in northwest Austin. UTIG is one of the three research units of the Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Responsible for the receipt and distribution of incoming letter mail in the Institute mail room.* Serves as the alternate/backup warehouse operations coordinator, assisting the Warehouse Building Manager with receiving shipments, renovations, and outbound shipments as required.* Other related duties as assigned.* Bachelor's degree, with three years of clerical or administrative experience.* Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, professional demeanor.* Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills, along with a keen eye for detail.* Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 100 pounds).* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Experience managing a building.* Experience conducting procurement activities for a university or state agency.**Start Here, Change the World**At The University of Texas at Austin, tradition meets innovation in the heart of a city that frequents lists of the best places to live and work.
