Dakin Humane Society is seeking Veterinarians who are interested in part‑time per diem work to assist us during our peak season and also to help fill in for some temporary, unexpected absences on our veterinary team. Our primary need is in our Adoption Center to treat animals after intake, in foster care or at the facility prior to adoption, and clearing from out‑of‑state transport. Protocols and qualified support staff are in place. Dakin maintains compliance with Shelter Organization Regulations set by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In 2023, Dakin had a 42% increase in intakes compared to the previous year and we were able to complete nearly 2,800 adoptions. We anticipate similar intake rates in 2025 and per diem veterinary coverage in the Adoption Center will be important in maintaining the health of these animals and placing them into foster and adoptive homes quickly. While coverage in our Adoption Center is our highest priority, we also have occasional need for per diem veterinarians trained in high‑volume spay/neuter and for coverage during scheduled vacations for veterinarians in our Pet Health Center (dakinpethealthcenter.org ). Hourly rates are negotiable within an employer set range based on experience, availability, and department. Applicants must have a current Massachusetts veterinary license in good standing. Please reach out to us at search@dakinhumane.org to learn more. And, please feel free to share this opportunity with others in your network! Veterinary Technician (full time)

Dakin’s Pet Health Center is currently on the lookout for a lead surgery CVT who is passionate about learning and leading our Technician internship program. We are also hiring another Veterinary Technician, however, certification is not required. This program is an expansion of our existing veterinary services to better support the pets and people in our community and lessen the number of barriers to veterinary medical care. By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside passionate individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in our community. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated individual with surgical experience to join our team as our new Pet Health Center Veterinary Technician (certification not required, but preferred). We are looking for someone who is passionate about providing quality, advanced veterinary care for our patients while sharing information and collaborating with our community and working together as a cohesive team within our department. If you have a passion for animals and an equal passion for helping their people, we want to hear from you! Schedule: 10‑hour shift Monday – Thursday. No nights or weekends! Pay range:
