Transportation Engineer – McCormick Taylor, Inc.

Position Summary McCormick Taylor is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer to join our Fort Myers, FL or Tampa, FL location. Given our corporate hybrid work policy and remote work flexibility, we would entertain candidates from a variety of locations within Florida with relationships focused in the Southwest Florida region and FDOT District 1 and 7. Candidates should have a detailed understanding of transportation engineering projects, planning, analysis and design for Southwest FL Counties, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Florida Turnpike Enterprise.

Responsibilities

Work directly with our FL Team which is focused on planning, analysis and design of highway and traffic engineering projects and structures.

Support existing client relationships, as well as research and develop/expand the client base.

Aid in proposal writing/preparation and marketing and outreach efforts.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering

A FL Professional Engineer license highly preferred, EIT required

10+ years’ experience in a similar position

Highway/roadway/traffic design experience with direct experience/relationships with FDOT and FTE including design criteria, standards and procedures

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work well autonomously and with limited supervision

Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to internal staff and clients
