Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to lead aviation-related infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will manage the planning, design, and delivery of multidiscipline projects for airport clients, ensuring all scope, schedule, and budget requirements are met. Projects may involve both airside and landside operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manage assigned projects in alignment with established scope, schedule, and budget.

Collaborate with internal teams and subconsultants to develop a risk-averse project scope and fee.

Develop and maintain Project Management Plans (PMP) and Quality Management Plans (QMP).

Prepare and maintain project schedules and track deliverables.

Lead and coordinate multidiscipline engineering teams and subconsultants.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

Develop change orders, task proposals, and extra work requests.

Communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Participate in financial status meetings and ensure timely and accurate invoicing.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.

Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and status updates.

Support marketing efforts, including Go/No-Go decisions, proposal development, and client interviews.

Coach and mentor team members to promote professional growth and high performance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.

Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to obtain registration in additional states within 3 months of employment.

5 to 20+ years of professional experience.

Proven experence managing multidiscipline project teams.

Nice to Have

CAPM or PMP certification.

Experience in airside airport design (runways, taxiways, taxilanes, RSA improvements) in compliance with FAA guidelines and circulars.

Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods (Design–Bid–Build, Design–Build, P3).

Local experience in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, D.C. is preferred.

Additional Information Work Environment

Approximately 95% of work is performed in a standard office environment (sedentary, well-lit, and temperature-controlled).

Field work may occasionally be required, involving exposure to varying weather conditions (heat/cold, wet/humid, or dry/arid).

May require light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
