Medical Staff Coordinator (Program Manager)
Location: Great Barrington, MA
Pittsfield, MA
Responsibilities
The Medical Staff Coordinator coordinates the medical staff credentialing process for all physicians and non‑physician providers for Berkshire Health Systems. Duties include gathering and processing new applications and reappointments, reviewing provider’s application, references, malpractice insurance, MA and other state licenses, board certification, education, DEA registration, MA Controlled substances registration, work history, and hospital privileges. The Coordinator completes, stores, and files all necessary forms and documents, and works independently with regulatory agencies, hospitals, and BHS/BMC internal departments to ensure timely and efficient provider credentialing and re‑appointment to the medical staff.
Qualifications
Experience:
Three years in medical staff credentialing. Experience managing difficult relationships and stressful situations.
Education & Training:
Associate Degree preferred.
License, Certification & Registration:
Current certification from the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSSP) is desirable.
Other Requirements:
Experience utilizing data management or information systems for reporting and tracking provider credentials and quality. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
