HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW
The Trade Compliance Specialist will oversee and maintain a comprehensive trade compliance program. This role is essential for implementing compliant import/export processes, ensuring regulatory adherence, and coordinating logistics to facilitate smooth international trade operations
This is an on-site position based near Savannah, GA.
EXPECTATIONS
Maintain compliance with ITAR, EAR, BIS, ATF, and other relevant trade regulations
Ensure accurate HTS/ECCN classification is assigned and maintained
Coordinate import and export shipments with customs brokers and freight forwarders
Prepare and submit import and export permits, as required by government regulating agencies
Communicate with international sites and customers for export coordination
Work closely with customs brokers to ensure smooth and timely entry clearance
Strong data and analytical skills leveraging MS Excel
ESSENTIALS
Understanding of export regulations, particularly for ammunition
3-5 years’ experience in trade compliance, preferably with a defense or firearms manufacturer
Expert knowledge of import/export regulations; HTS, COO, Valuation, FTA, AD/CVD, etc.
Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to manage multiple projects
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Willingness to become an in-house expert for import/export compliance while expanding knowledge
