Position:
This Dedicated Fleet Manager (DFM) position works on-site in Lockport, IL. It is responsible for the direct management and supervision of a fleet of truck drivers to include compliance with DOT regulations, company policy, employee performance and retention, and efficient and effective movement of our customer's freight. The position is on-site with the customer requiring daily interaction and relationship management with the key customer contacts.
Responsibilities
Supervise and provide leadership to build and maintain a strong team through effective communication, recruiting, training, coaching, counseling, appraising and rewarding. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Manage driver performance and activities. Direct and schedule driver's work. Plan, assign, and distribute work to avoid hours of service violations while coordinating loads, equipment and backhauls to achieve maximum utilization of the fleet.
Manage work assignments. Develop daily delivery plan utilizing equipment, manpower and other resources to ensure an effective, efficient operation. Organize, plan and implement transportation solutions for assigned customers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with customers, drivers, vendors and other Ruan locations.
Perform additional administrative functions to include payroll, billing, driver counseling, post-accident reviews. Properly use the Ruan transportation management systems to ensure all required operational data is accurately captured in a near real-time manner.
Ensure compliance with D.O.T., OSHA, EPA, and all federal and state regulations, as well as company rules and policies. Monitor, train and promote safety in all areas of dispatch.
