Overview
Airbus Helicopters is looking for an experienced helicopter sheetmetal mechanic to join the Maintenance & Repair (MAR) team based in Grand Prairie, TX. This is a temporary (contract) position with no fixed end date; contractors are employed by a third-party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus in America. Responsibilities
Sheet Metal: 80% Perform layout of sheet metal parts by measuring and scribing in preparation for cutting and forming operations. Cut raw materials allowing for bend requirements, flanges, and crimping. Provide nesting arrangements for cutting the maximum number of parts from standard size metal sheets. Prepare patterns and/or templates to simplify manufacturing processes and ensure proper dimensions. Install sheet metal parts and assemblies in aircraft; ensure installations are attached without endangering aircraft structure or systems operation and function. Conduct structural and operational checks and complete troubleshooting of sheet metal mechanical installations. Work from three-dimensional blueprints, sketches, diagrams, technical manuals, work orders, inspection reports, and other documentation. Diagnose causes of malfunctions, identify failures and determine corrective actions to restore systems to required specifications. Perform corrective actions by making repairs, adjustments or replacements. Work from blueprints, sketches, vendor and service manuals, and other data to obtain dimensions, locations, alignment, tolerances and other specification requirements. Use standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices and test equipment as needed. Maintain coordination with the assigned lead and QA regarding schedules, priorities and parts issues. Ensure completed work complies with FAA regulations, customer requirements and company specifications. Coordinate with departments regarding materials, supplies, equipment and job schedules; maintain scrap at minimum levels. Documentation: 15% Daily release and update of timesheets; sign off work clearly and legibly with adequate descriptions of work performed. Complete required forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work; ensure discrepancies are properly documented. Cleanliness: 5% Maintain a clean, organized work area; ensure toolboxes are clean and free of FOD; follow OSHA, safety and environmental regulations. Your boarding pass Education:
High School diploma or equivalent (Required). U.S. person under ITAR requirements. Citizenship:
