Your Purpose The Shore Excursions Coordinator will assist in preparing the shore excursions programs for a selected portfolio of ports within Caribbean and North American destinations. He/she will be in close communication with the local tour operators in the different destinations about the shore excursions program of the ports of his/her competence as well as to explore and develop new products in these same ports.
Your Impact
Communicating with local tour operator about current tour programs, scouting for new products and exploring avenues for program and revenue optimization and adjustments based on demand, operational flow, and market trends.
Keeping tour description files up to date for all programs.
Ensuring insurance certificates are on file up to date on a weekly basis.
Issuing contracts for all tours and tour operators of the area of competence and ensuring the same are kept on file and remain current.
Issuing and reviewing safety audits through the dedicated company platform and acting as needed.
Keeping tours images directory up to date in collaboration with Marketing department.
Sending emails to tour operators about procedures and deliverables.
Communicating with ships in the Caribbean area regarding reports and tours operations.
Reviews reports from ships on a weekly basis and follows up with ships and tour operators as needed for corrective actions from an operational and guest satisfaction standpoint.
Travels onboard vessels and by flight for product quality control and site inspections.
Assists in competitive benchmarking and destination research to identify new trends and product opportunities.
Maintains in-house shore excursion price lists and vendor directories up to date.
Assists with special projects.
Additional tasks and duties as assigned by the manager.
Your Journey so far
Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Business, Hospitality or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the cruise line tours department.
Strong interest and knowledge in destinations, travel experiences, and guest satisfaction.
Selected candidate must be able to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels (verbal and written) with customers and within the company. Ability to clearly convey information through a variety of media (verbal, written, e‑mail, etc.).
Must be able to work independently and report to the manager as well as work well as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills, highly organized and detailed.
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Must demonstrate excellent phone manner and etiquette and be able to maintain a positive attitude when under pressure.
Proficiency using computer software (including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with product/content management systems is an asset.
Availability to travel onboard the ship and by flight. Up to 25% of travel time/year.
Knowledge of languages other than English (German, French, Spanish, Italian) is a plus.
