MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self‑motivated, and professional Service Specialist to join our MWA Region 10 team! Qualifications
High School Diploma required. Bachelors Degree and experience in Social Service field preferred.
Ability to observe and work well with a diverse population.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Driver’s license, vehicle, insurance, and willingness to travel occasionally for home visits and other community activities to provide services.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
Provide a wide range of individualized case management services to TA recipients, SNAP recipients, and older youth who have been in foster care, creating and working on an individualized plan toward self‑sufficiency.
Conduct comprehensive initial intake and orientation to available services.
Maintain contact with participants per State contract requirements.
Read and implement state and local policy.
Complete agency documentation and data entry in a timely manner.
Send required letters and correspondence.
Assess participants for appropriate levels of service (including waivers) and referrals to internal and external services and providers.
Place participants in appropriate activities including community services.
Provide or arrange supportive services.
Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources. Make referrals, advocate, and follow up.
Collect and process attendance logs, request sanctions, obtain needed verification.
Other duties as assigned.
