DoD Skillbridge Quality Assurance – Associated Milk Producers Inc.
Join our team for the DoD Skillbridge Quality Assurance role at Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI), a cooperative that owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants producing 10% of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter.
About AMPI AMPI is known for award‑winning dairy products and the Dinner Bell Creamery brand. This internship offers a learning program designed to train participants for potential full‑time opportunities.
Responsibilities
Execute required tests on finished products according to SOPs and customer requirements.
Conduct tests on incoming ingredients according to the QMS (Quality Monitoring Scheme).
Perform daily/weekly plating, calibration, sample collection, and sample preparation.
Support investigations on improvement projects, identify root causes, and help develop corrective actions.
Assist in training operators to ensure accurate and timely process checks as outlined in the QMS.
Communicate out‑of‑specification product results to supervisors.
Calibrate laboratory equipment such as pH meters and scales in accordance with SOPs.
Carry out daily routine sample analyses using lab techniques and instrumentation following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Organize laboratory records and files, ensuring compliance with procedures and maintaining accurate quality records.
Support laboratory activities to maintain and improve product quality, safety, housekeeping, and hygiene standards.
Qualifications • 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance or laboratory environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of SOPs, GLP, and quality monitoring systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
