Description The National Forest Foundation (NFF) is pleased to offer a regular, full‑time position to a candidate who will support the Advancement Division’s success by strengthening its operational alignment and functionality. NFF, the official national partner to the US Forest Service, advances forest resiliency, healthy watersheds and wildlife habitat, and recreation for all through collaborations with communities and organizations nationwide. Roughly 90% of NFF’s expenses are directed to projects and programs across the 193‑million‑acre National Forest System.

Position Function The Database Operations Analyst reports to the Conservation Awards Operations manager. Responsibilities include managing and optimizing systems and processes to increase fundraising revenue, overseeing the donor database and related processes, training relationship managers, designing dashboards and reports, leading special database projects, and ensuring timely gift processing and acknowledgement. The role also involves collaboration with Finance, the CRM Administrator, and vendor relationships.

Position Duties and Responsibilities Database Management, Operations and Reporting

Collaborate with the IT team to oversee maintenance and optimization of the CRM/donor database, including data entry processes, report generation, and data analytics for strategic insights.

Prioritize data integrity, accuracy, and security.

Oversee integration of various technology systems supporting fundraising, such as online donation platforms, financial software, and CRM systems.

Lead the identification, selection, and implementation of a new CRM/donor database if needed.

Financial Management and Compliance

Collaborate with Finance to reconcile gift records, manage grants, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Ensure all fundraising activities comply with legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, including tax laws, data protection regulations, and donor confidentiality agreements.

Team Collaboration and Stakeholder Management

Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the Advancement, Conservation, Marketing, Communications, and Finance teams.

Maintain strong relationships with external vendors.

Ensure smooth data coordination and communication across departments to support fundraising efforts.

Prepare reports for fundraising teams, executive leadership, and the board.

Operational Planning

Develop and implement strategic plans for fundraising operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Support all aspects of fundraising operations, including donor services, database management, and compliance.

Continuously assess and improve operational processes, leveraging technology and best practices to increase efficiency.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate effectiveness of fundraising operations.

Education and Qualifications

Minimum five years of experience managing CRM systems and leveraging technology to grow philanthropic goals.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required or equivalent experience.

Highly data fluent with technical proficiency in systems integration and IT.

Abilities and Skills

Strategic and systems‑level thinking, project management, and deep understanding of fundraising processes.

Financial management, budget planning, and knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and compliance.

Process improvement, innovation, and familiarity with latest technology and tools in nonprofit fundraising.

Excellent communication, relationship building, and ability to collaborate across teams.

Proficiency with data entry, analysis, and reconciliation; results‑oriented.

Strategic, hardworking and self‑motivated; able to work flexibly and independently.

High integrity and commitment to excellence, with superb organizational skills and keen attention to detail.

Location Flexible throughout the lower 48 states. Remote/work‑from‑home with reliable internet access and dedicated workspace required.

Compensation Competitive salary range of $83,800 to $101,275 with potential to grow to $118,750 based on performance. Benefits include health and wellness, financial well‑being, flexibility & time off, personal development, and unique travel opportunities.
