The opportunity is with Smurfit WestRock (NYSE:SW), a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging. As the Shipping Coordinator, you will be responsible for organizing and managing the day‑to‑day logistical activities for shipping and receiving at the plant facility. Your role is also responsible for ensuring personnel operate efficiently and safely, maximizing loads while minimizing shipping costs, and coordinating with 3rd‑Party Logistics Companies to ensure on‑time delivery and high customer satisfaction.
How You Will Impact Smurfit WestRock
Coordinate daily dispatch to ensure timely and cost‑effective shipment methods
Identify opportunities to maximize manufactured square footage (MSF) per trailer to increase utilization and cost savings
Coordinate material staging, shipments, pick and pack, expired inventory destruction, and raw/custom‑owned inventory
Maintain knowledge of DOT regulations and routing to create efficient shipping schedules
Ensure Shipping Clerks safely operate material‑handling equipment and adhere to safety procedures
Partner with 3rd‑Party Logistics Companies to coordinate dock times for customer receipt
What You Need to Succeed
3 years of experience in shipping and receiving in a warehouse environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to adapt style and interact across all levels
Strong decision‑making skills; able to adapt quickly to unforeseen changes
Well organized with great time‑management to execute multiple priorities
Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after a conditional offer but before starting employment.
