Build your career at US Aggregates! The Leadman role partners with the Plant Manager to manage production aggregate operations and ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective operations. The focus is on safety, production, maintenance, quality, environmental compliance, and other production related activities. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and, in the Plant Manager’s absence, to the Area Manager.
Essential Functions
Plan and direct daily mining operations in coordination with the Plant Manager.
Review daily equipment inspection reports and respond accordingly.
Monitor all plant personnel to ensure training, safety, production, and staffing needs are met.
Provide mentoring and coaching to employees and work with the Plant Manager to address personnel issues. Help identify and develop talent at each plant site.
Assist in scheduling and monitoring fixed and mobile equipment maintenance programs, ensuring personnel are properly trained on maintenance standards.
Identify, assess, prioritize and resolve production, quality, and employee‑related problems.
Participate in monthly production/planning meetings and weekly safety meetings.
Monitor mobile and fixed equipment needs, working with plant and equipment operators to keep proper replacement and repair parts on hand to minimize downtime and maximize production.
Fill in as needed in a variety of plant positions and perform other duties as assigned, continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
Education Qualifications
Required: High School or Equivalent.
Experience Qualifications
5+ years industry‑related experience, preferably in the aggregate field.
Skills And Abilities
Industry‑related experience preferred.
Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations (MSHA).
Knowledge and awareness of site hazards. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requires use of computer equipment and technology.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and other software preferred.
Good organizational skills; excellent problem‑solving skills and practices.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and to stand, sit, and walk for long periods of time.
Work environment will be both indoors in an office and outside in the quarry or plant. Exterior work includes exposure to dust, fumes, gases, and variable temperatures, as well as the use of hand or power tools. The position requires the ability to operate a vehicle within the plant site and on the open road.
Position requires ability to work at multiple sites, flexibility to work long hours, and travel as needed.
