Essential Functions

Supervises blood collections at mobile and fixed sites.

Trained on all tasks required of Donor Care Technician I and II, and Senior Donor Care Technician (as applicable).

Functions as a resource for staff concerning donor criteria and vein suitability, addressing donor questions and difficult venipunctures.

Reviews quality control reports and ensures staff compliance with SOPs.

Determines job assignments, breaks and meal times for staff.

Coordinates with mobile chairpersons and volunteers.

Handles or seeks help for emergencies that occur.

Ensures compliance with CBC safety policies and procedures.

Maintains confidentiality of personal information regarding donors and staff.

Responds to staffing problems, donor/staff complaints and counsels donor and staff as needed.

Provides written evaluations of staff concerning performance and SOP compliance.

Documents staff behavior and attendance issues as needed.

Promotes customer service and a positive image of CBC to the community.

Maintains prompt and regular attendance.

Responds to temperature/humidity alarms (as applicable).

Maintains and reconciles monthly equipment inventory.

Confidently communicates and interprets intermediate information in English to all members of the public and CBC staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.

Degree in Business or Biological Science preferred or equivalent experience.

Supervisory experience required.

Phlebotomy experience preferred (Willing to train phlebotomy skills).

Current CPR certification or obtain within six months of hire.

Prefer at least 12 months experience in Blood collections, Phlebotomy, and CBC, DA, AABB, and OSHA regulations.

Valid MO Class E Driver's License or KS Class C Driver's License with excellent driving history (if applicable).

Flexibility to work various schedules is a must.

Excellent knowledge of donor criteria and the interview and blood collection procedures.

Excellent knowledge of vein suitability.

Excellent knowledge of blood collection complications and care procedures to follow.

Under the supervision of the Site Manager/Manager of Mobile Operations/Field Supervisor/Assistant Manager, assumes responsibility for supervising the staff in collections at fixed and/or mobile sites. Monitors the collection activities to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. Serves as a resource for donor eligibility and phlebotomy complications. Responsible for meeting projected production goals. Delegates duties to staff; coordinates with mobile chairperson. Promotes positive image of CBC to the community. Performs duties of Site Manager in their absence.
