MAWD | March and White Design is seeking an experienced West Coast New Business Manager to lead and expand the firm’s presence across the Western United States. This role is focused on cultivating new client relationships, driving strategic growth, and positioning MAWD as a preferred design partner within the hospitality, luxury residential, and development sectors.

This position will be based in MAWD’s Los Angeles studio and will directly report to the Head of Business Development & Marketing, working in close collaboration to support firm-wide growth initiatives and long-term business strategy.

This is a rare opportunity to help shape the West Coast presence of one of the world’s most respected luxury design firms.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across hospitality, branded residences, and high‑end residential developments.

Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, owners, operators, brokers, and key industry partners.

Actively track and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and unsolicited opportunities.

Represent MAWD in early‑stage conversations, positioning the studio’s design vision, expertise, and value proposition.

Strengthen MAWD’s brand visibility and footprint across key West Coast markets, with a focus on California and other strategic regions such as Mexico & Hawaii.

Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and pipeline opportunities to inform strategic decision‑making.

Support long‑term growth planning in alignment with the Head of Business Development & Marketing and firm leadership.

Work closely with the Head of Business Development & Marketing as well as design leadership to develop compelling proposals, presentations, and credentials tailored to each opportunity.

Ensure consistency of messaging, brand positioning, and storytelling across all business development efforts.

Participate in client meetings, interviews, and presentations, both virtually and in person.

Nurture ongoing relationships with existing clients to support repeat business and cross‑market opportunities.

Maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion consistent with MAWD’s luxury positioning.

Act as a trusted point of contact during early project phases, ensuring a seamless transition to design teams.

Qualifications & Experience

5–7+ years

of experience in business development, client relations, or strategic growth roles within

architecture, interior design, real estate development, hospitality, or luxury residential sectors .

Established network within the West Coast hospitality and development market strongly preferred.

Proven ability to originate and secure new business opportunities.

Strong understanding of the design, development, and hospitality ecosystem.

Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.

Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
