Overview A Nurse Resident is a new graduate direct clinical care registered nurse (RN) who continues to develop nursing knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors introduced in formal education as they transition into practice. They are expected to demonstrate appropriate competency in both core and functional areas.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience:

Associate of Nursing; must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program

Preferred Education:

Bachelor of Nursing; Master of Nursing

Required Licensure (start of cohort):

Registered Nurse licence in TN, GA, or another multi‑state compact RN licence

RNs with a multi‑state compact licence from another state must complete the application for licensure by endorsement within 60 days of relocating

RNs with a single‑state licence from a non‑compact state must obtain a TN, GA, or other compact licence before the cohort start date

RNs with a single‑state licence from TN or GA must work on a campus in that state

Required Certifications:

Basic Life Support – CPR (BLS‑CPR) American Heart Association upon hire

Required Certifications (within 120 days):

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred Certifications (within 90 days):

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Pay Range USD 30.00 – 43.05 per hour
