Service Center Manager

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Service Center Manager to lead our Customer Service team in Milwaukee, WI. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations of one of our service centers while providing leadership to our team of customer service specialists. Your administrative, project management, coaching, and mentoring skills will be vital.
Job Responsibilities
Manage internal service center operations to meet/exceed P&L objectives.
Champion the development of leadership competencies that drive individual and team goals.
Meet customer and shipment metrics (time to fill, expediting orders, quoting).
Develop, implement, and monitor programs and activities related to product promotion, inside sales, office and warehouse functions, and customer service—measuring results.
Hire, train, and develop service center personnel.
Assist account managers in identifying, acquiring, and retaining customers.
Manage inventory, receivables, expenses, and profit/loss accounting.
Review and complete monthly reports; oversee petty cash balancing.
Ensure customer relations are maintained at a high level.
Utilize key metrics to evaluate and recommend best practices for operations.
Manage vendor relationships.
Create a positive, dynamic, and fun work environment.
Position Requirements
2+ years of proven sales or customer service leadership experience in an industrial atmosphere or parts counter.
High school diploma or GED.
Solid understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn our ordering system.
Industrial sales/distribution experience preferred.
Service center experience preferred.
ERP/SAP experience preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
