Base Pay Range $20.00/hr - $20.00/hr
Description The Wine, Beer & Liquor Assistant Team Leader supports the overall operations, sales performance, and team leadership of the department. This role partners with the Team Leader to ensure exceptional Guest Service, strong vendor relationships, in‑stock excellence, merchandising integrity, and margin achievement across the wine, beer, and liquor categories. The Assistant Team Leader also supports the training and development of department Team Members and helps maintain a culture of hospitality, accountability, and growth.

What you will bring
Prior retail, beverage industry, or hospitality leadership experience.
Experience supporting or managing category buyers or product lines.
Knowledge of product selection, inventory management, margin, and merchandising standards.
Ability to coach others and deliver consistent, timely feedback.
Comfort working with store financials, labor budgets, and performance targets.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Flexibility to work a variety of retail shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
What you will do
Support the Team Leader in managing all aspects of department performance.
Help oversee wine, beer, and liquor category execution, including purchasing, merchandising, and pricing integrity.
Collaborate with department Buyers to ensure optimal stock levels without overstocking.
Train, coach, and develop Team Members to deliver best‑in‑class Guest Service and department execution.
Assist with scheduling, labor management, and margin performance tracking.
Uphold safety, sanitation, and compliance standards at all times.
Support seasonal resets, display changes, and promotions with a high level of execution.
Step in as acting department leader when needed.
Foster open communication and teamwork across the department and with Store Leadership.
Uphold all Plum Market policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
