Assistant Project Manager – E2 Optics

What You’ll Do

Promote core values to foster a family‑centric culture.
Participate in the RFP process, reviewing plans, specifications, and bid forms.
Review contract/work orders for content, validity, and changes.
Build and maintain customer relationships to secure and grow business opportunities.
Provide the initial client interface to assess scope, schedule, and resources needed to complete a project.
Work with the Operations team to ensure proper materials, equipment and labor are available.
Develop mobilization and resource plans, evaluate needs with site resources.
Manage project scheduling to control costs and meet contract requirements.
Handle subcontractor and vendor relationships; streamline activities; keep staff and upper management updated.
Participate in progress‑update meetings and deliver customer reports as required.
Prepare change orders with PM/PE/SI and manage completion using customer tools.
Monitor installation activities with onsite E2 personnel to meet schedule and budget.
Partner with QA/QC to ensure specifications are communicated, anchored, and achieved.
Manage job cost/profitability and scheduling through internal systems and reports.
Represent the company at client project meetings.
Participate in all meetings, conference calls, and company‑required meetings throughout the year.
Coordinate with PE to facilitate efficient and accurate project close‑outs, assist with accounts receivable when needed.
Manage customer acceptance and sign‑off.
Coach, develop and guide direct reports and/or team members, promoting a lean culture and emerging technologies.
Drive continuous‑improvement activities and support lean initiatives across the site.
Travel overnight as required and be willing to travel as needed.
Additional responsibilities as identified and assigned.
What We Are Looking For
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Certified PMP preferred.
BICSI RCDD or BICSI RTPM certification preferred.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Knowledge of building codes and BICSI standards.
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial or data‑center construction and project management, including cabling, rack infrastructure, and large‑scale builds.
Experience managing large‑scale client projects with guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contracts.
Product experience with Panduit, CommScope, Corning, and others.
Proven track record of completing telecommunication projects.
Experience managing projects $1M+ and service contracts.
Decision‑making authority for procedures, plans, schedules.
Proficiency in problem solving and root‑cause analysis.
Knowledge of structured cabling industry, technology, quality, and safety standards.

Work Environment and Physical Demands The standard work environment is an indoors business office and construction setting. Employees regularly sit, talk, use hands, kneel, reach, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and climb ladders to 20 ft. Equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs may be required. Working in tight, confined spaces may also occur.
