Role Overview The Product Development & Production Associate will be the point person for sweaters and knits, becoming a product expert for that category. Collaborates with the design, technical design, merchandising, and fabric R&D from initial concept through final stages of production. While continually striving to have all product be the highest quality, have the sharpest cost and best timing.
Partner with the Design team ensuring product is developed within the company’s vision.
Work with factories to request prototypes, salesman samples, and production samples.
Handle multiple seasons at once and balance workload.
Become a product expert by growing a strong understanding of sweater/knit construction, sourcing and costing.
Correspond daily with factories on all developments, growing vendor relationships.
Manage the tracking and receiving of all samples. Ensure they arrive by major milestones.
Utilize PLM to create style attributes, download tech packs, and update style information.
Ensure WIPS are maintained and accurate at all times. Report on development and production status.
Partner with tech team to maintain sample approval deadlines.
Oversee production execution to maintain delivery and style quality.
Facilitate clear and timely communication across cross-functional teams to maintain alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
Assist the team on other categories as needed.
Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, & Education
Minimum of 3 years of apparel product development and/or production experience.
Experience in a PLM system preferred (Centric / Full Circle).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and is open to change.
Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.
Entrepreneurial mentality; resourceful with creative problem‑solving skills.
Exhibit personal leadership and strategic mindset.
Experience working with factories and mills directly.
Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical and Mental Requirements
Standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
Lifting up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner.
Ability to easily move throughout an office with ease.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
