The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $21.00 and $21.00 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
What you’ll do in this role
Perform a safety check of the equipment to ensure it is safe to operate.
Perform daily assignments as directed by Team Group Leader or Supervisor.
Actively maintain good housekeeping standards in the assigned area.
Safely operate a forklift to transport materials.
Ensure stocks of needed materials are ready and available at all times.
Learn multiple pieces of automated equipment and be flexible to move to different work stations daily.
Effectively communicate and relay information to peers and/or supervisors concerning the performance of the production line as it pertains to the assembly, operation, and performance of the line.
Perform various manufacturing inspection protocols to ensure plant quality standards on granular packaging products and display units.
Adhere to plant safety rules and programs as it pertains to self and all other associates.
What you’ll need to be successful
Position entails prolonged and repetitive motion: standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending, climbing, reaching overhead, and arms/hands dexterity.
Ability to drive a forklift.
Ability to climb on and off required equipment.
Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs and meet man-lift requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to read and write English and/or follow instructions.
Must pass the minimum fit-for-duty physical (annually).
Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work in a dusty, hot/cold/humid environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, and be on feet for 8–12 hours a day.
High School diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of one plus year of production plant experience is preferred.
Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, and ability to make decisions regarding equipment adjustments to meet product specifications and quality conformity.
Must be a team player and promote teamwork among production lines, departments, and shifts.
