Job Purpose:

The NC Operator will set‑up and operate numerically controlled CNC lathes, manual lathes, and other metal machining equipment. The candidate must interpret route sheets and directives, set up and run NC machines to produce parts that meet specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Setting up and operating CNC turret punch presses and/or laser cutting machines.

Loading and unloading materials (sheet metal, etc.).

Running programs and making adjustments as needed.

Monitoring machine performance and troubleshooting issues.

Interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure parts meet specifications.

Measuring and inspecting finished parts using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

Ensuring parts adhere to quality standards.

Identifying and reporting defects.

Selecting and installing appropriate tooling.

Performing machine setups and adjustments.

Maintaining tooling and equipment.

Performing routine maintenance on machines.

Reporting any equipment malfunctions.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

2-4 years of experience operating CNC turret punch presses and/or laser cutting machines.

Familiarity with specific machine brands (e.g., Amada) is often preferred.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Proficiency in using measuring tools.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Attention to detail.

Problem‑solving skills.

Basic computer skills.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Ability to lift and move heavy materials.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.

Salary Range (annual):

$58,240 - $64,480 ($28.00 - $31.00 per hour). Actual base pay depends on experience, education, certifications, and skills.
