We are looking for a
MRO Sourcing Specialist
to join our team in Elkhart, IN. The role combines analytical sourcing skills with hands‑on manufacturing knowledge to support cost optimization, supplier performance, and product quality across the supply chain.
Supplier Identification & Evaluation with New Product Development
Research, identify, and assess potential domestic and international suppliers and manufacturers.
Conduct supplier audits, capability assessments, and risk & compliance evaluations.
Analyze supplier capacity, manufacturing technologies, certifications, and compliance standards.
Develop and maintain supplier and new part‑number databases.
Strategic Sourcing, Negotiation, & Cost Optimization
Analyze market trends, pricing, contracts, and long‑term agreements.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for new and existing product categories.
Lead RFQs/RFPs, cost analysis, and price negotiations to achieve competitive cost structures.
Ensure contracts and agreements meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Manufacturing, Technical Support & Procurement Execution
Prepare RFQs, RFPs, and purchase orders for components such as motors, wiring harnesses, sensors, metal parts, plastics, electronic modules, and batteries.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to define product specifications and technical requirements.
Troubleshoot manufacturing‑related issues and support process improvements.
Monitor production readiness, tooling development, and pilot runs at supplier facilities.
Supplier Relationship & Performance Management
Build strong partnerships with suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
Track and report KPIs including lead time, quality metrics, delivery performance, and cost trends.
Address non‑conformance issues and implement corrective action plans.
Risk & Compliance Management
Identify supply‑chain risk such as shortages, geopolitical issues, or transportation disruptions.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and sustainability requirements.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
Work closely with procurement, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to support new product introductions and ongoing production.
Provide sourcing insights during product development to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
Support supply‑chain risk‑mitigation plans and alternative supplier strategies.
Working Conditions
Movement: occasional office and production floor movement; occasional standing and reaching.
Operate/Use: use a computer and office productivity machinery.
Transport: frequently lift or move 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
Work environment: relatively noisy and fast‑paced.
Travel: occasional travel to customers and vendors; minimal overnight stays.
Minimum Qualifications and Education
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
3‑7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or manufacturing within a technical or industrial environment.
Experience across multiple industries and with global suppliers preferred.
Dynamic, self‑starter with strong communication skills.
Self‑motivated, dependable, ethical, honest, and trustworthy.
