Overview
We are seeking an RN House Supervisor, sometimes referred to as a Hospital House Supervisor or Clinical House Supervisor. The RN House Supervisor will ensure smooth, safe, and efficient clinical operations across the entire hospital. The RN Supervisor is the administrative representative of hospital leadership when management is off‑site. The RN House Supervisor will ensure that staffing, patient care, crisis response, and interdepartmental coordination are handled without interruption.
Shifts Available Nights
Employment Type Part‑time
Hours 12 hour – 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Location Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL
Eligible Applicants
Experience in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Room (ER), Emergency Department (ED), Charge Nurse, or leadership experience in a hospital (Acute Care) setting.
Responsibilities
May directly intervene in emergency situations, including patient codes, Rapid Response activations, or behavioral escalations.
Monitors patient flow: supervises bed availability and coordinates admissions, discharges, and inter‑unit transfers.
Works closely with the emergency department (ED), intensive care units (ICU), med‑surg floors, and ancillary departments (lab, imaging, pharmacy) to avoid bottlenecks.
Manages staffing by evaluating unit needs based on census, patient acuity, and absences; reallocates existing staff and coordinates float pool, per diem, or agency support.
Prepares comprehensive shift reports and documents critical incidents—including patient complaints, staff conflicts, injuries, and safety concerns.
Oversees hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring quality care, efficient patient flow, and staff coordination in the absence of administrative leadership.
Supports staff, assists with urgent procedures and staffing, ensures RN staff orientation, and promotes a positive patient experience.
Qualifications
Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience.
Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus
One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
