Waggoner Engineering is hiring a Project Field Inspector for our Baton Rouge, LA office to provide quality planning, designing, and technical oversight to assist the Project Manager/Client Account Manager in delivering projects within budgetary and time constraints.
Work under the general guidance of an Engineer. Use excellent client service skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and members of the public.

Primary Responsibilities
Conduct on-site inspection work for environmental, water, sewer, and other public works projects and programs.
Inspect all phases of construction and improvement work to assure compliance with plans, standards, specifications, special requirements, codes, and regulations.
Review and process contractor invoices.
Respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs).
Review and process change orders.
Prepare substantial completion punch lists.
Review and approve contractor shop drawings.
Qualifications
Graduated high school or GED and at least 5 years of related experience.
Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods applicable to a municipal setting; working knowledge of applicable laws, standards, and regulations relating to construction, inspection, and safety.
Considerable knowledge of public works inspection methods.
Considerable skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Ability to prepare, organize, and maintain inspection field and office data, reports, and systems.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Strong writing, reading, listening, and speaking communication skills.
