Operations Support Specialist 1: $59,200 – $91,600; Operations Support Specialist 2: $71,200 – $112,900
The Nuclear Materials Science Group (MST-16) is seeking an energetic, customer‑focused individual to serve as an integral part of our organization. The successful candidate will provide operational support to MST-16 colleagues and integration across support organizations.
Responsibilities
Support for meeting coverage including shift operations, plan of the day/week, Operations Integration Center planning, shipping, etc.
Walk‑down support for operations within Nuclear Facilities.
Serve as a Designated Procurement Representative/Professional Buyer (DPR) and/or Subcontract Technical Representative (STR) and Administrative Subcontract Technical Representative (ADSTR).
Provide support for MRP required activities.
Provide logistical support for on‑site interviews.
Obtain and maintain Fissile Material Handling and Glovebox Operator requirements (level 2).
Provide logistical support and coordination for nuclear material shipments (level 2).
Provide support for sample coordination, planning, disposition, and consolidation (level 2).
Qualifications
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; strong customer service and team‑working skills.
Knowledge of the Laboratory’s security and safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure of deadlines, interruptions, and changing priorities, and to follow multiple tasks to completion.
Knowledge of government procurement regulations, policies, and practices.
Demonstrated experience in decision making, organizing and prioritizing tasks, and taking initiative.
Ability to obtain a Q‑Clearance and HRP certification, which typically requires U.S. citizenship.
Education Level 1: Associates degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience (or equivalent).
Education Level 2: Associates degree in a relevant field and four years of directly related experience (or equivalent).
Desired qualifications: Knowledge of the Laboratory’s security and safety policies, practices, and procedures.
