Pay, Benefits and Perks of MDS Coordinator (RN or LPN): Sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates, dependent on nursing licensure. Competitive pay based on experience. Immediately accrue paid time off (PTO) as you work (full-time only). 6 observed holidays + 1 floating holiday. Up to $5,000 per calendar year for tuition/education reimbursement for approved programs. Take home up to 75% of net earned wages at the end of every shift. 401(k) retirement plan with company-matched contributions after 1 year of employment. Essential Functions of MDS Coordinator (RN or LPN)
Understand regulations and standards related to the RAI process (Federal/State regulations and MDS RAI User Manual). Participate in the pre-admission process to obtain essential information for MDS/Case Mix coding and assess Medicaid eligibility when applicable. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to ensure timely nursing documentation and risk assessments capture services delivered on the MDS. Participate in community and corporate meetings. Prepare and timely submit Additional Documentation Requests (ADRs) and Revenue Audits. Serve as the community subject matter expert on ADL documentation and MDS supportive documentation requirements during orientation. Participate in training of new associates on the RAI process and provide ongoing education to staff on ADL documentation, interview techniques, skilled services and documentation guidelines. Assess competency of staff involved in the RAI process and educate the interdisciplinary team as needed. Assist in preparing clinical, quality and reimbursement reports; review quarterly Medicaid reports when applicable. Complete the RAI process and manage the MDS department; ensure timely, accurate, and complete assessments of residents’ health and functional status. Schedule and open MDS assessments in the EMR per RAI guidelines for OBRA, Medicare PPS, and Medicaid/State requirements; accurately code the MDS to reflect services delivered. Develop individualized plans of care with an interdisciplinary approach in accordance with regulations and policies. Review CASPER validation reports and follow up as needed; analyze Quality Measure reports for quality assurance and improvement. Serve as an RAI and Clinical Reimbursement resource to community staff; participate in education and training activities (corporate webinars, RAC-CT, Relias, etc.). Maintain proficiency in the clinical/MDS software and data transmission per regulatory standards; stay current with Medicare/PDPM, ICD-10 coding, OBRA, RAI and regulatory changes. Maintain confidentiality of resident and employee information; identify safety concerns and take appropriate action. Monitor clinical systems for changes in resident condition and strategically set ARD with the IDT to reflect needs and services. Monitor MDS and care plan documentation, ensuring complete, orderly, and chronological records; communicate pertinent information to nursing management, business office, facility administration, and corporate teams. Attend and participate in MDS, QM, and Reimbursement education at various meetings and remain current with industry changes.

Qualifications of MDS Coordinator (RN or LPN)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. MDS experience is preferred; however, we will educate and work with enthusiastic candidates to grow their skills. RN or LPN with a current, active Missouri license. CPR certified. Must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication. Basic computer knowledge; excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Exhibits excellent customer service, compassion, and empathy for residents and their representatives. Effective communication, education, leadership, and time-management skills. Committed to excellence.
