Deputy Utility Manager – Electrical Distribution
Los Alamos County, NM is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Utility Manager for the Department of Public Utilities (DPU) Electric Distribution Division. The position will lead electric utility activities, support the county’s sustainability goals, and maintain system reliability and high customer service.
Base pay range:
$128,520.00/yr – $209,275.00/yr
Responsibilities:
The Deputy Utility Manager will: assist DPU in implementing Board of Public Utilities and County Council Environmental Sustainability goals; establish a plan to upgrade electric supply and distribution systems to meet the needs of all-electric buildings and electric vehicles; support electrification of and solar installations in the community; maintain system reliability and a high standard of customer service; strengthen existing partnerships.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
Registered Professional Engineer in NM or ability to acquire within 12 months.
Seven (7) years of combined experience in engineering related field or power distribution; at least four (4) years of supervisory experience.
U.S. citizen and able to obtain a non-cleared DOE badge.
Project Management Certification preferred.
Demonstrated experience in electric distribution design, operations and maintenance.
Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
