Job Description

Full‑time position, 40 hours per week located at the McHenry clinic. Travel to Huntley clinic as needed. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm.

The Patient Service Representative reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC and complies with all relevant policies.

Supports the service area by checking patients in and out of appointments; demonstrates exemplary customer service.

Responsibilities

Communicate with patients and guests, including greeting them upon arrival, confirming identity and providing necessary visit information.

Complete check‑in/out functions as directed.

Confirm and update patient identification and demographic/insurance information.

Complete patient registration when needed.

Obtain patient consents/authorizations.

Collect copayments, past‑due balances and point‑of‑service payments.

Post payments, process billing information and perform end‑of‑day cash drawer closing.

Keep waiting area clean and comfortable.

Inform patients of any delays or changes in appointment status.

Schedule appointments as necessary.

Float to other ICCs/departments for PSRs in the Immediate Care Clinics.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Zero to two years experience in a customer‑service position.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting.

Working knowledge of medical terminology.

Bilingual.
