Airbus US Manufacturing Facility
is looking for a Fleet Manager to join our Final Assembly Line based in
Mobile, AL.
The Industrial Maintenance organization provides corrective and preventative maintenance across a broad range of installed assets and hand tools within the Mobile FAL. The assets include mechanical and electrical CNC machinery, conventional production machinery, jigs and tools, and single‑aisle Final Assembly Lines (both A320 and A220). Asset age ranges from brand new equipment up to 10 years old. The strategy requires enhanced technical support to develop internal competence for comprehensive asset care.
Reporting to the Contracts Manager , the Fleet Manager will ensure service levels and value for money for the entire fleet at the Mobile Manufacturing Site. Responsibilities include managing third‑party service providers, vehicles, drivers, and other assets; implementing fleet management software; overseeing purchase or lease of all vehicles; and ensuring the program is right‑sized to campus needs.

Your Working Environment Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019.

Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day transportation operations for the Mobile Manufacturing Campus, including subcontractor coordination and regulatory compliance.
Maintain an inventory log of all fleet vehicles and associated equipment.
Monitor driver qualifications, training logs, and vehicle maintenance records.
Recommend and manage initiatives to improve service delivery and KPIs.
Develop corrective action plans and efficient routes/schedules.
Provide reports on budgeting, schedules, maintenance, and performance metrics.
Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance programs, insurance, invoicing, and repairs.
Support procurement in contract negotiation and maintain supplier relationships.
Assist with maintenance strategy, refurbishment projects, and escalation point for fleet assets.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED plus 3+ years of subcontractor management experience (preferred: college degree).
Knowledge of current industry trends, best practices, and technology.
Experience coordinating work‑flow initiatives for transportation, driver training, safety, scheduling, and fleet management software.
Analytical and quantitative skills with proven ability to develop strategic solutions.
Customer service and invoice processing skills.
Eligible to work in the USA; U.S. person under ITAR definition.

Vision, hearing, speaking, equipment operation, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, sitting, squatting/kneeling, standing, walking, traveling as needed.
