This Position Reports to Service Manager

Role Overview This position is dedicated to managing field service projects in the US North Region. The Area Field Project Manager (AFPM) will ensure safe, efficient, profitable, and effective project execution as aligned with ABB Electrification Service (ELSE) performance goals. The work model for this role is Hybrid/Remote, with the ideal living location in Cincinnati, Columbus, or Cleveland, OH. This role contributes to the Electrification Service division.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure HSE compliance (SDSP, PICW), order materials, manage deliveries, find vendors for special needs, receive material in SAP, track material from vendors, and document customer and test reports.

Develop project schedule including labor, delivery of drawings, execution in the shop, on‑time shipment, and invoicing coordination and execution.

Track and own all profits and costs for the project: work closely with finance and service directors to update forecasting tool, and be responsible for quotation and booking of change orders, initiating price change requests, applying mark‑ups, preparing quotations, and implementing schedule changes.

Own the customer relationship and be the primary contact for all project‑related matters, including technical inquiries and concerns from the customer; coordinate and resolve technical questions/issues that arise in the field.

Support and own all aspects of the project to enhance shipped margin opportunities while taking actions to minimize risks.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Field preferred, 5 years of relevant experience preferred; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.

Project management experience required; PMP is nice to have.

Familiar and experienced with SAP, MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other office software.

Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

Experience dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment.

Must have work authorization that permits employment in the US.

Salary Base salary is expected to be between $79,800 and $148,200 annually.
