Job Summary
The Night Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff during the night shift, ensuring that all patients receive high-quality care, managing staff schedules, and addressing any issues that arise during the shift. The role protects and promotes resident rights, manages the facility in accordance with the facility philosophy, complies with standards of professional nursing practice, and utilizes resources efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise nursing staff during the night shift
Ensure that all patients receive high-quality care
Manage staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage
Address any issues that arise during the shift
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Adhere to all healthcare regulations and guidelines
Qualifications
Current, active license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan with no restrictions
Current BLS/CPR card
Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
Prior experience in long term care in a supervisory capacity is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work other shifts
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
