About the Opportunity We’re seeking a dynamic
Project Manager & Estimator
to join a long-standing commercial construction team. If you're passionate about building meaningful spaces, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is your chance to make a significant impact.
Since 1993, this organization has delivered distinctive commercial projects that shape the Houston landscape. More than just a general contractor, they are a
family-owned and operated business
committed to craftsmanship, long-term relationships, and a culture of trust.
Their portfolio spans
community centers, hospitality, cultural spaces, and retail developments , including high-profile ground‑up projects such as
North America’s first Gandhi Museum . Because of the complexity and scale of their work,
remodel-only experience is not sufficient —they require professionals who have taken full-cycle, ground‑up commercial builds from dirt work through final turnover.
Why This Role Stands Out
Legacy of Excellence
– Contribute to commercial projects that make a lasting mark on Houston.
Growth Opportunity
– Join a company on a strong upward trajectory with room to advance.
Unique Projects
– Work on diverse, meaningful, ground‑up developments that challenge and inspire.
Collaborative Spirit
– Be part of a small, tight-knit, family-oriented team where your contributions matter.
Competitive Rewards
– Enjoy a comprehensive compensation package and opportunities to grow your career.
Responsibilities As a Project Manager & Estimator, you’ll be at the center of the construction lifecycle—guiding projects from initial concept through final completion. This is a
hands‑on role
where you will own your projects end‑to‑end: coordinating subcontractors, managing budgets, reviewing drawings, resolving issues, and ensuring delivery excellence.
Many team members manage
multiple active projects , so you must be organized, proactive, adaptable, and confident operating with autonomy in a fast‑moving environment.
Full commercial GC experience managing ground‑up projects from sitework through final finishes
Subcontractor‑only, remodel‑only, or MEP/utility backgrounds
will not
meet requirements
Proven experience serving as the
primary GC
delivering full ground‑up builds
Comfortable working in a
family‑business environment
with a mid‑size GC structure
Must be able to operate in a hands‑on role without the siloed divisions of a large GC
Involvement required across all phases of the project lifecycle
Analyze project plans, drawings, and specifications with meticulous attention to detail
Develop comprehensive schedules and budgets that drive efficiency
Lead subcontractor bidding, bid‑leveling, negotiations, and performance management
Review subcontractor invoices and billing through
Procore
for accuracy and documentation compliance
Oversee material procurement and track delivery timelines
Champion quality control, schedule adherence, and budget discipline
Build strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants
Prepare and submit project reports, pay applications, and change orders
Use
Procore
for submittals, RFIs, daily logs, meetings, drawings, schedules, subcontractor billing, and overall project documentation
Manage bidding invitations, subcontractor communication, and bid leveling through Procore
Maintain accurate, organized project records using Procore workflows and tools
Perform precise quantity takeoffs using
Planswift
Develop competitive bids that win new work
Evaluate costs and uncover value engineering opportunities to strengthen proposals
