Transmission Project Manager
WSP is seeking a Transmission Project Manager for our St. Louis, Mo office. This role may be performed remotely with monthly travel to and within the Ameren service territory.
Job Overview As the Project Manager, you will provide technical oversight and guidance for Transmission and Distribution projects, ensuring delivery according to the contract, WSP’s core values, and high standards of safety, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the project planning process: initiation, design, engineering, material procurement, construction, commissioning, and close‑out for multiple concurrent projects.
Manage project implementation, including schedule, budget, resources, and external vendors/contractors.
Lead client discussions and develop growth in client relationships.
Serve as the primary project authority on major project‑related issues.
Track metrics, report to stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and departmental procedures throughout all project phases.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with WSP/POWER staff, management, and the client.
Oversee cross‑functional teams of technical professionals to execute project work on mid‑level and multiple concurrent projects, managing budgets, hours, expenses, deliverables, compliance documentation, and contractual obligations.
Establish the required level of technical review, select qualified staff for reviews, and adhere to QA/QC plans as applicable.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, complying with WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
7 to 10 years of relevant post‑education experience in a project management role within the A/E/C industry.
Sound understanding of project delivery processes and demonstrated background in project management.
Well‑developed analytical and organizational skills with business acumen to bridge business and project management.
Familiarity with financial analysis tools in a utility setting.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP’s health, safety, and anti‑harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering.
Essential project management certification required (e.g., PMP, CAP‑M).
