Position Summary...
As the Senior Manager, Creative Business Affairs, you will play a vital role in supporting WCS’s business affairs team drive creative and brand success while safeguarding the interests of the enterprise. You will help develop processes, templates, and guidelines to enhance our creative and production operations. Leveraging your expertise in production and advertising, strong business acumen, and evolving understanding of Walmart’s platforms and initiatives, you will contribute to a forward-thinking Business Affairs team that leads in production innovation. You will enhance our best-in-class offerings and manage risk within our production processes and guidelines. With an entrepreneurial spirit, you will tackle business and strategic challenges head‑on.
What you’ll do...
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including Finance, Procurement, Marketing Legal, Agency Relations, Media, Creative, and Marketing leads
Analyze deal opportunities and formulate business strategies related to talent and production matters
Monitor industry regulations and legal requirements relevant to advertising and marketing practices, advising the team on compliance matters
Support music and intellectual property licensing workstreams, including ideation and negotiation
Draft and negotiate talent contracts based on Walmart‑approved specifications and ensure all contractual obligations are met
Conduct production audits, enforce ongoing governance of production infrastructure, and provide insightful recommendations for production cost management
Manage, maintain, and foster relationships with key agencies, representatives, and attorneys in the entertainment community
Identify potential risks in marketing and advertising strategies, develop mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to internal policies and guidelines
Advise and set operational standards and guidelines for AI tools in creative and production workstreams
Manage urgent deadlines and a variety of complex projects while remaining solution‑oriented and detail‑focused
Operate comfortably in a highly creative, flexible, and nimble environment
Deliver timely, effective, and strategic business affairs advice that aligns with evolving legal and regulatory expectations
Prepare and present regular reports to senior management regarding business affairs activities and compliance issues
Collaborate with a team of business affairs professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
Qualifications
7+ years of experience in business affairs, legal, or compliance roles within the advertising and marketing industry with a proven track record of negotiating contracts and managing complex agreements
Strong understanding of advertising laws, regulations, and industry standards
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Proficient in contract management and production budgeting software and tools
Experience with social networking, platform integrations, publishing platforms, broadcast, and new media
Meticulous attention to detail in reviewing reports and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance
Ability to think strategically and provide sound business advice while balancing creative needs
Knowledge of digital marketing, media buying, and production processes
Familiarity with AICP Guidelines and union and non‑union work (SAG‑AFTRA, AFM, IATSE), branded partnerships, interactive, and/or social landscapes
Experience with emerging technologies and platforms such as augmented reality, virtual reality, gaming, Web3, AI, avatars, etc.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; JD preferred

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00–$216,000.00.
