HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Plan, assign, and supervise team activities to meet program goals and objectives; assure conformance with guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations. Monitor the progress of program work plan elements to ensure timely, complete, and technically accurate work products; approve investigation reports and correspondence; and take steps to identify and correct nonconforming work.
Participate in interviewing and hiring team members; mentor and develop staff, and complete performance management functions; track and assure professional development requirements of staff and team performance goals and objectives are met; address employee issues accordingly.
Communicate the status of policy implementation, team performance, and other significant issues to management and recommend appropriate actions as necessary.
Contribute to the continual improvement of the section’s management system. Provide outreach and technical assistance concerning policy and technical issues to the general public, regulated community, and other agency customers.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience coordinating or overseeing the work of staff or planning and/or executing projects.
Experience training or developing staff.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.
OR
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Program Supervisor VI state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Program Supervisor VI series.
Work Schedule Standard business hours are M-F, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Houston Region Office.
