Overview
The HSE Engineering & Operations Lead directly and indirectly supports the functional areas of HSE owned by Lutron’s engineering and manufacturing elements. With direction from corporate HSE, the EOSC provides guidance, training, troubleshooting, and coordination support, so that engineering and operations teams achieve excellence and continual improvement in HSE performance.
Responsibilities
Deliver safety training to engineering
Work with the Tool and Test teams, coordinate safety reviews for tool and test
Coordinate site audits for engineering offices
Coordinate annual inspections and environmental surveys required for compliance (industrial hygiene, hazardous waste management, etc.)
Manage the safety data sheet inventory tool to ensure it is up to date and coordinate the review process for approval of new chemicals
Project‑manage specialty safety improvement projects
Coordinate quarterly cross‑site communications meetings and enable cross‑functional and cross‑site sharing of HSE best practices
Manage workflows for HSE policies and procedures in the document control tool
Support site‑specific HSE improvements at engineering offices as needed
Develop and deliver the framework for annual safety campaigns
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in HSE, Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or a similar field, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE, preferably in manufacturing, R&D, or warehousing operations
Problem‑solving methods and tools, including Kaizen
Project coordination and tracking experience
Cross‑functional and cross‑cultural collaboration skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
