SEC Reporting Consultant
Location: Bay Area (hybrid) – fully remote for Pacific Standard Time zone residents.
Base pay range $55.00/hr - $75.00/hr
Compensation $55 to $75/hr and benefits offered through Sayva.
Responsibilities
Maintain, format, and roll-forward SEC filings within the company’s cloud-based SEC reporting platform (Workiva).
Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and documentation for SEC filings, including ownership of tie‑outs.
Manage and coordinate additional management documentation and other key control support materials.
Oversee the completion of quarterly and annual GAAP disclosure checklists.
Support SOX compliance activities related to financial reporting and disclosure controls, including mitigation and remediation of issues identified by internal and external auditors.
Perform select monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including account reconciliations and related tasks.
Assist with the review and application of XBRL tagging requirements.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting or SEC reporting experience.
Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated hands‑on experience preparing 10‑K and 10‑Q filings.
Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
Strong proficiency with Workiva/WDesk, Oracle/HFM, XBRL, financial tie‑outs, and disclosure preparation.
Ability to analyze complex financial data and derive meaningful conclusions.
Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Deadline‑driven, able to manage multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Proactive, asks the right questions, and possesses the "get‑it" factor.
Sharp, smart, and able to efficiently identify issues and propose solutions.
