Overview
Position: PERSONAL SUPPORTS DSP-PART TIME Location: Arbutus, MD Job Id: 2118 • Openings: 1 • Rate of Pay: $18.54 per hour Hours: Friday 4pm-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 12pm-4pm SCHEDULE CHANGES ARE ONLY MADE BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUAL Position Overview
A Direct Support Professional plays an integral role in a supported person’s life. The DSP will provide assistance, guidance, mentoring, coaching, and teaching in activities of daily living, personal care, life skills, community integration, and transportation navigation. The DSP will assist the supported person in enjoying the life that they want to live and increasing their quality of life by providing excellent services. Essential Job Functions
Individualized supports provided to waiver participants in their own homes, or family homes, to acquire the skills necessary to maximize their independence. Support the person in accordance with the Person-Centered Plan, Behavior Support Plan (if applicable). Utilize agency electronic systems for communication, progress notes, incident report filing, etc. Encourage opportunities for decision making, self-help activities, and daily planning. Follow schedule agreed upon at the time of hire. Share and maintain required documentation of services provided. Complete and maintain required trainings in accordance with DDA/State/Company regulations (including CPR/First Aid and Mandt System). Report and document incidents within the required timeframe. Foster positive, professional relationships with supported persons. Document daily progress and maintain bi-weekly or monthly activity calendars as needed or directed. Attend trainings, team meetings, and monthly supervision as required. Check and respond to emails daily to maintain proper communication. Conduct yourself professionally when interacting with individuals, neighbors, parents, advocates, consultants, and regulatory personnel. Driving and community interaction is required; may include attending events, religious services, or activities. Must have own reliable transportation with adequate insurance; provide a 1-year driving record with no more than 3 points. Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Division Director. Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Training and Experience: Preferred DDA core competencies, Mandt Systems Training, CPR/First Aid, MTTP. Experience with IDD/DD preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and sit for up to 8 hours; lift up to 50 lbs; ability to demonstrate Mandt Systems physical interventions. Benefits
