Product Manager 2 – Principal Financial Group We are looking for a Product Manager 2 to join our Pension Risk Transfer team. You will serve as a strategic liaison between business strategy and technology teams. This role is responsible for defining product vision, creating roadmaps, and ensuring seamless collaboration across business and technical stakeholders. The ideal candidate will manage complexity, drive critical initiatives, and ensure alignment between business needs and technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and articulate product vision and strategy aligned with business goals.

Develop and maintain detailed product roadmaps that guide development and delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels—from AVPs to individual contributors—to drive alignment and execution.

Apply modern product management methodologies to deliver value efficiently.

Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business and tech teams.

Maintain comprehensive documentation of product requirements, technical builds, and business impacts.

Share updates and progress with stakeholders, including PMs, tech teams, and shareholders.

Analyze data to inform product decisions and measure success.

Prioritize tasks effectively with strong time management skills.

Demonstrate resilience by adapting to challenges and driving solutions forward.

Who You Are

4+ years of business, technology, or product management experience (or equivalent through training, military experience, or education).

2+ years working in a highly collaborative, fast‑paced environment with engineering teams and partners.

Proven track record in overseeing one or multiple products.

Demonstrated capability to apply problem‑solving, partnership, and informed decision‑making in product contexts.

Experienced in managing partnerships and maintaining strong professional relationships within product teams.

Skilled in leadership, persuasion, and negotiation within product‑driven initiatives.

Skills That Will Help You Stand

Experience and/or knowledge within Defined Benefits or Pension Risk Transfer is a significant plus.

Ability to understand complex systems and processes, including contract rewrites.

Demonstrates a solid understanding of product methodologies and frameworks.

Proven experience in planning ahead, crafting roadmaps, and analyzing data.

Salary Range (Non‑Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $104,400 - $187,200 / year

Benefits Flexible Time Off (FTO) for exempt employees. Pension eligible. Work arrangements: in‑office, hybrid, or remote depending on location.
